Sometimes it seems like the script is coming right off the pages of Atlas Shrugged, with a few minor adjustments. The motor of the world is slowly coming to a creeping halt. Who is John Galt?

We will catch up soon when we settle into the Arizona desert for a 10 day respite from the road. And just during the day yesterday I literally was warped by the rain, driven by the snow and bent by the wind....

Lisa's Uncle Bob said to check out this place called New Braunfels, it being an historically German town with character and close to everything.

Well this verse should really be titled "The move to St. George Island, but good luck finding a long term rental on the Island, so why don't you get to know Apalach... and ultimately discover.... what's missing there!" But that is a long title for a Verse.. or Chapter or what have you.

Lisa and I would get the chance to travel once in a while from Key West, and one of our favorite destinations was New Orleans. On one trip back from New Orleans, a friend of ours, Rob Taylor, suggested we stop in the small town called Apalachicola. A fun beach side, and a relatively quaint downtown with great cafes, bars and restaurants. A short drive down the beach to Surfside finds deserted beaches and some old school bars. Housing and rental prices are very reasonable for island living. We had hoped to move all our belongings to Key West, do a little exploring, and then take about a year and explore the good ol' US of A on a road trip. After having traveled so extensively in Europe, and it being before the advent of the smart phone, we understood the need for internet cafes wherever we traveled. Westward Ho!Well, much to our disappointment we were forced to cancel/postpone our Italian adventure with less than a day to go. So sitting in Atlanta disheartened and dismayed, we quickly made a change of plans and turned the wheels west! We had Texas on the radar for our return in June, but... no time like the present.

Well here we are in Decatur, GA on the eve before our flight out of Atlanta to Italy tomorrow. Lisa is a smart woman. (Well, she married me, right?) We like beer. We like live music. When I say we, I am referring to both me and my wife Lisa.
I grew up in Vermont and Lisa moved there in her early 20s, during the early 1990s. We met in Burlington, which at the time had become a live music mecca...around the time Phish was just hitting stride, catapulting from the bars of BSontheRoadhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11083591917750295626noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-928958415015086531.post-12323197098575685312020-02-23T08:20:00.001-05:002020-02-23T08:20:41.938-05:00When in Rome....Trevi Fountain here I come! So, as folks that never knew where Apalachicola was, nor would have ever thought we would have run a music venue in the panhandle of Florida, we find ourselves in a very strange paradigm, and ask ourselves often... well.... how the hell did we get there??
